Level 4 Bookkeeper
J R Global Manufacturing, Inc. produces machined and fabricated metal components for customers representing transportation, equipment, communication, research and other commercial businesses.
Successful candidates for this position should have a high school diploma and have completed some postsecondary coursework or hold an associate degree in business or accounting. Candidates are expected to have a mastery of MS Office, especially MS Excel. Previous bookkeeping experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Maintains records of financial transactions
- Establishes accounts
- Posts transactions
- Ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Preparing Payroll
- Submitting Payroll Taxes
- Preparing Property Tax Returns
- Preparing Sales Tax Returns
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, watching YouTube videos, reading blogs, etc.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
