Level 1 General Laborer

J R Global Manufacturing, Inc. produces machined and fabricated metal components for customers representing transportation, equipment, communication, research and other commercial businesses.  The company uses computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines to produce these items.

This is an entry level position and no specific previous experience is necessary.


Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, etc.   
  • Running errands, picking up and delivering items in company vehicles. 
  • Grounds keeping, mowing, tractor work, tree removal. 
  • Assisting machinists and other employees with lifting and positioning work pieces. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs to vehicles, equipment and buildings. 
  • Semi-skilled production activities such as sawing, deburring, painting, etc.
  • Other tasks as directed by management.
Duties
  • Responsible for doing all mowing, trimming, and grounds keeping for the entire area around the buildings and yards.
  • Bush hog all open fields.
  • Remove fallen trees, trim bushes, and burn brush piles.
  • Apply herbicide around edges of yards and fields.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as changing oil and filters on mowers, tractors, company vehicles, heavy equipment and production machines.
  • Make minor repairs to all types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance to facilities such as painting, changing bulbs and plumbing repairs.
  • Clean rest room, sweep and mop floors, empty trash.  Keep work areas, floors, and storage areas clean, neat, and organized.  Remove dust from horizontal surfaces.  Remove cobwebs and dust from walls and ceilings.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Effectively cooperate and communicate with management and fellow employees.
  • Assist management with continuous improvement activities.
  • Represent the company favorably in all contacts with the public and customers.
  • Assumes a leadership role and trainer for less skilled or experienced employees.
  • Assist management and others with activities commonly associated with a manufacturing environment.

Pay Range
